Wildlife photography, especially of mammalian carnivores, is my passion, and I want to inspire people to connect with and cherish wildlife in their immediate vicinity. My current focus is documenting mountain lions in the foothills around Boulder and mapping their territories. This lion is smelling a “scrape,” which are widely used by lions to mark territories and communicate. My ultimate goal is to take high-quality, in-person photographs of a local lion. To accomplish this, I am using camera traps to learn their regular haunts, tracking and trailing, and learning everything I can about their habits and whereabouts.
