Wildlife photography, especially of mammalian carnivores, is my passion, and I hope to inspire people to connect with and cherish the wildlife directly in their vicinity. My current focus is documenting mountain lions in the foothills around Boulder and mapping their territories. This lion is smelling a “scrape,” which are widely used by lions to mark territories and communicate.
I’m also excited about the return of wolves to Colorado, viewing their repopulation as a turning point in the history of the American West. Over the next decade, I hope to document their return, trace the lineage and movements of the packs that establish themselves in the area, and foster an understanding of how humans and large predators can coexist with respect and tolerance.
